Family law
Emily has a busy family law practice representing both applicants and respondents in a range of family matters in the County Court before Magistrates, District Judges and Circuit Judges.
Emily frequently receives instructions to represent a range of individuals, including parents and grandparents, in respect of applications for Child Arrangements Orders, Specific Issue Orders and Prohibited Steps Orders. Emily undertakes work at all stages of proceedings in private children law matters from conciliation and directions hearing through to final hearings. Emily is regularly instructed in matters which involve domestic abuse, child abuse allegations and where there is Local Authority involvement.
Emily also receives instructions in public law proceedings. Emily represents all parties and her work to date has included representing Children’s Guardians at various stages of care proceedings including case management hearings and issue resolution hearings.
Emily also represents clients in family injunction applications for Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders.
Criminal law
Emily is regularly instructed for both the prosecution and defence in the Magistrates Court and Crown Court across South and West Wales.
Emily prosecutes and defends a wide range of criminal cases such as public order offences, offences against the person, driving offences, drug offences and theft.
Emily is instructed in relation to sentences, appeals against conviction/sentence and trials.
Emily is also instructed to appear on behalf of the police in applications for Domestic Violence Protection Orders as well as disclosure applications on behalf of the police and the CPS before the Family Court.
Civil law
Emily regularly undertakes work on a variety of small claim matters, particularly in respect of Road Traffic Accidents, where liability and quantum are in dispute. Emily also receives instructions to represent both claimants and defendants in stage 3 hearings in respect of personal injury. Emily is frequently instructed on possession claims made under section 8 and 21 of the Housing Act 1988.
