Ashanti-Jade is instructed for both the prosecution and defence in Crown, Magistrates and Youth Courts. She has experience in the Crown Court of conducting trials, advancing mitigation on behalf of defendants, appeals and Proceeds of Crime proceedings. Ashanti-Jade is a Level 3 on the Crown Prosecution Service Advocate Panel.
Notable cases:
R v J [2017] - Ashanti-Jade represented a defendant charged with two counts of fraud totalling £35,000. She successfully made a no case to answer submission in respect of the lead count concerning £25,000.
R v M [2017] - Mitigated on behalf of a defendant who pleaded guilty to a count of fraud concerning over £30,000, despite a number of aggravating features, the defendant was given a suspended sentence.
R v H [2018]- Ashanti-Jade represented a defendant charged with ABH on a 12-year-old. Despite there being 28 separate sites of injury, the defendant was acquitted.
R v D [2018] - Ashanti-Jade represented a defendant charged with Affray and Possession of an Offensive Weapon – a no case to answer submission was made in relation to the latter offence, which was successful.

Ashanti-Jade presents cases for the Education Workforce Council, the alleged misconduct involved has included: dishonesty, inappropriate messaging and assault.
Ashanti-Jade also has experience of defending cases brought by the RSPCA and Trading Standards and of prosecuting and defending cases concerning failure to send children to school.
Inquests
Ashanti-Jade has experience representing interested parties and families at inquests. She has recently worked on an inquest into the death of a 20-year-old whilst at work. The interested party was both the brother and deputy manager of the deceased. Written and oral submissions were advanced as to whether Unlawful Killing should be left for jury consideration. This conclusion was not left before the jury and they found it was an accident.
